More course information

We encourage you to be visually aware of the world around you, recording your experiences and observations. We concentrate on drawing, including observational and mark making; painting using a variety of methods and materials; various types of print making; mixed media and some ceramics.
Students explore, analyse and study the work of other artists from past and recent times and use this experience to influence their own developing style. The department provides the chance to visit galleries and museums to experience art work first hand. The subject places a distinct emphasis on the exploration of ideas, materials, visual and sensory sources. It aims to develop your creativity, skills, knowledge and awareness. The course will concentrate on the development of a range of expressive, analytical and interpretative skills.
