The study of photography is aimed at creating visual meaning through art by an expressive or interpretive response to still and moving imagery through lens-based media.
Photography will develop your creativity in many ways. You will gain a more informed understanding and appreciation of both the photographic art form and the world around you and you will have the opportunity to work in digital form and in specialist dark room facilities. You will develop your imaginative, experimental and expressive powers and your intellectual, analytical and technical skills.Throughout your studies you will learn how feelings and meanings can be conveyed and interpreted in images and artefacts. You will examine historical and contemporary developments and different styles and genres and appreciate how images and artefacts relate to the time and place in which they were created.
