This course introduces you to a wide range of textiles media and processes. You will be encouraged to explore your creativity and be inspired by visits to exhibitions and knowledge of other art disciplines.
The first part of the course focuses on experimentation and you will explore a range of techniques such as feltmaking, printing, embroidery and appliqu??. You will be working in a sketch book to show the development of your ideas, the artists you have researched and your experiments.
Students use drawing and photography as a way of recording their ideas before developing these into a range of textile techniques. Students reference fine artists and a wide range of crafts people as well as textile and fashion designers.
