The new linear A Level Business Studies course offers students an insight into how businesses of varying sizes operate internally. The course covers a number of theoretical models which are then applied to real life businesses in order for students to understand how and why decisions are made in industry. It requires students to be able to complete calculations and make analytical judgements about the business based on the data. The ability to communicate ideas through extended answers is extremely important.

Students complete six units in Year 12 and a further four units in Year 13. Knowledge from all ten units is examined in all three examinations at the end of Year 13.

Business studies is a valued academic subject which requires a logical approach to theories and models. It is acceptable for college/university entrance and is relevant to everyday life. Business studies will combine well with economics, history, geography, English and mathematics.
