What is it? Economics describes the factors that determine the production, distribution and consumption of goods and services. You will research and debate issues such as inequality, immigration and interpreting data and discuss alternative solutions. Why study this course at Blackpool Sixth? You will have the opportunity to visit New York to see how a different economy functions. There are also opportunities to join our Career Ready programme. We often invite guest speakers in to college. Students will have the opportunity to attend lectures held by bodies such as the Institute of Economic Affairs. Specific course entry requirements: GCSE maths and GCSE English language or literature at grade 4. If you have taken a GCSE/BTEC business course at school, then a 4 or BTEC equivalent is required.
