What is it? A comprehensive introduction to advanced music studies, including performing, composing and analysing music. You will learn about music by a wide range of composers, and explore musical styles and genres. Why study this course at Blackpool Sixth? As a music student, you will receive weekly one-to-one tuition on your first-study instrument. Students get the chance to take part in our amazing concert series, including performances all over the Fylde coast, as well as our annual international concert tour. Recent tour destinations have included Italy, Germany and New York. The college has become a lead educational partner of the Leeds College of Music in recognition of our high standards in music education.
Specific course entry requirements: Must have practical ability on your first-study instrument (or voice) at grade 5 ABRSM standard or above (no need to have taken the exam). Students must also have passed (or be working towards) ABRSM grade 5 theory.
