This course is ideal for those students who wish to study physics or a physics related subject at degree level. It is also suitable for students
who wish to broaden their curriculum.
In Year 12 students will study units on the development of practical skills in physics, foundations of physics, forces and motion, electrons,
waves and photons. This is followed in Year 13 with units in the Newtonian world and astrophysics, particles and medical physics.
A successful physics A Level student will have multiple paths open to them for future opportunities. Physics is not only suitable for those wishing to pursue physics further at university but also anyone wishing to study any technical subject such as an engineering subject, computing and medicine as well as any numerate discipline such as economics. It will also provide students with highly sought-after transferable skills for employment including data analysis, practical skills and problem solving. Students will also have a far better understanding of the world and the universe around them.
