This challenging and creative A Level is seen by many institutions including Oxford and Cambridge as a valuable preparation for later life, involving team work, communication, and working to deadlines, amongst the many skills you will develop. You will extend your skills in both the understanding of theatre and performance of drama. You will work in specialist facilities, be involved in a wide range of performance tasks and take part in a variety of workshops. You will need to have a real commitment to the study of Theatre, academically and practically, involving new ideas and forms of performance. An enjoyment of drama and visiting the theatre are, of course, essential. A willingness to give up time out of the classroom for visits and rehearsal is also expected. The course also includes numerous theatre visits, allowing students the opportunity to see a wide range of theatrical styles and genres in performance.
