A L3 BTEC Applied Science will teach scientific principles and how to work in a laboratory situation with both chemicals and live organisms. This is a practically based course with the underpinning scientific theory being taught at an academic level. Studying will allow investigation into topics such as the fundamental principals of science, approaches used by scientists and industry, and scientific practical techniques. Analysing results from practical work and writing scientific reports successfully will require good mathematical and literacy skills.
During the course a flexible approach to learning and carrying out tasks both independently and as part of a team will be required.
