More course information

Students will work in analogue and digital photography, developing their use of lens-based media through artistic methods. They will advance their technical and creative skills, learning and experimenting with a range of techniques such as creative lighting, darkroom practice, image editing and use of mixed media for their photographic artwork. Students will learn how to develop a project on a chosen theme, for which sketchbook skills, analysis of artistsƒ?? work and written annotations are very important. Student projects and examination pieces will be exhibited at the end of the academic year, showcasing their strongest work.
For entry onto the course, we strongly favour students who have achieved a grade 6 or higher in GCSE Art and Design. In exceptional cases, we will consider students who have not taken Art and Design at GCSE level who can show a deep interest, passion and ability in photography through a portfolio of work that is presented to us in advance.
