Year One:
In Year 12 you will spend the year developing key skills in a range of media (painting, drawing, printmaking, mixed
media and digital work). You will then develop your preferred media into small focused projects. You will learn how
to make relevant connections to the work of others. Essentially Year 12 is development year in preparation for the
A Level in Year 13.
Year Two
Component 1 Personal investigation
This is a practical investigation supported by written material. The investigation will be a coherent, in-depth study
developing a sustained investigation from an initial starting point to a final realisation. The written element is a
structured response of between 1000 and 3000 words.
Component 2: Externally set assignment
You will choose one of the exam boardƒ??s externally set questions and develop this into a body of work. Following
the preparatory period you will complete a fifteen hour exam.
