The content at A Level is separated into Human Biology and Ecology. The content is examined through three exams at the end of Year 13; each exam is two hours long. Paper 1 and 2 are worth 91 marks and account for 35% of the A Level. These papers consist of a mixture of short and long answer questions and 15 marks are dedicated to an extended written response. Paper 3 is worth 78 marks and accounts for 30% of the A Level. Paper 3 consists of 38 structured questions including practical techniques, 15 marks critical analysis and 25 marks on one essay.The practical elements of the course are assessed both within the written exams and through direct observations of students? competency in a range of skills during practical lessons.
