The BTEC Level 3 Business course will provide an understanding of the essential skills and attitudes required to begin a career in the business sector or to move on to further education. The course is designed to work well alongside other BTEC courses or A Level study and to reflect individual interests and career aspirations.

The course is equivalent to one A Level and involves 58% external assessment and 42% internal assessment. In Year 12, students complete two mandatory units including a written test during term six and an internal assignment. Two further units are studied in Year 13 which are a combination of an internal assignment and an external assessment set by the exam board which is carried out over a given time frame.

With international recognition of BTEC courses such as this, students can progress straight into employment. If successful, there are a wide variety of prospective careers that students can explore, for example within marketing, accountancy and finance, production, management,
entrepreneurship and many more. Past students have moved on to higher education to study entrepreneurship and enterprise, fashion marketing and accountancy.
