This course caters for those who wish to pursue a career in Art and Design, but have yet to decide on a specialist area. This course is offered as a one year Subsidiary Diploma covering nine units, successful completion can lead to the Extended Diploma where a further nine units are covered. The course provides a strong drawing and visual studies core in 2D and 3D where students are helped to acquire the basic skills of Art and Design. Course units include: Drawing; Painting; Printmaking; Sculpture; Ceramics; Photography; Graphic Design; Textiles; Fashion; Computers in Art & Design; Art and Design History. You will also be expected to study one functional skill such as Maths or English to Level 2.
