The BTEC Subsidiary/Extended Diploma in Music is a Level 3 qualification that provides learners with opportunities to study a broad range of areas, related to popular music. The programme is aimed at musicians who are interested in developing the necessary skills and knowledge required to work both within the music industry and for degree level studies. You will study a wide variety of areas, including: Rehearsal and Performance Techniques; Instrumental Technique (lessons); History of Popular Music; Studio and Live Sound Recording; Harmony, arranging and composition; Writing and playing music for media (jingles, film, computer games etc); Improvisation; Music theory grades 1-8; Music Industry, Promotion and Marketing; Managing a Music Project. One functional Skill at an appropriate level. Tuition on your main instrument
