The Cambridge Technical Certificate in IT is equivalent to one A Level. Designed in collaboration with experts from the sector, this qualification aims to prepare students for the challenges theyƒ??ll face in Higher Education or employment. Learners will gain an insight into the IT sector as they investigate the pace of technological change, the IT infrastructure, the flow of information on a global scale and the importance of legal and security considerations.
How is it Assessed?
Three externally examined units:
ƒ?› Fundamentals of IT
ƒ?› Global Information
ƒ?› Cyber Security
A choice of two further units which are centre-assessed.
Who is it for?
This qualification is designed for learners who want to continue their education through applied learning by developing their knowledge and understanding of the principles of IT and global information systems.
Where can it lead?
Achievement of this qualification can support progression to Higher Education and relates to degrees such as, Computing and IT, Computing Science, Software Developments, Software Engineering, ICT and Computer Networks or Business Information Systems.
