This course embraces those already working in the early childhood sector and wish to advance in the field to a senior practitioner or leadership position in the industry.Unlike many universities we embed work experience in to the programme. Our undergraduates benefit from extensive relationships with major employers and build up their own contacts from day one of their course spending around six hours per week working in either paid or voluntary positions. We have a large work placement team who organise these opportunities for our students and ensure they are as close to home as possible. We believe this sets our graduates apart from others in the sector and results in near 100% graduate employability on completion of the foundation degree and honours degrees.Throughout the programme, you will develop a sound understanding of the principles underpinning the role of a senior practitioner and learn different approaches to solving problems at work. The wider social, political and economic issues related to the early years sector are also covered while in the top-up year, the focus is on the development of higher supervisory level skills.
