The qualification is designed as a stretch and challenge opportunity for students to investigate a topic beyond the normal confines of an A Level
qualification.
Students will carry out research to sufficiently develop project aims and objectives to make a formal project proposal. They will go on to produce
a production plan through an essay or artefact before presenting to an audience about the product and process (including a question and
answer session). The last part of the course sees students evaluating the project process.
The course can provide additional UCAS points and is favoured in some Universities. The EPQ demonstrates a student?s ability to work independently, research, plan, argue and present ? all key skills required for university study, or job applications. It is good evidence to put on a UCAS personal statement, or in a letter of application.
