The Bridge to Independence courses are programmes of further education for students with severe learning difficulties and/or disabilities. The courses are designed for young adults who have the potential to progress and the enthusiasm to continue learning in a safe and supported setting. The aim of the Finding Independence course is to help students reach their potential through learning. The course is designed to prepare students for adult life, with support and guidance. The students are encouraged to negotiate their own learning programmes, make choices and decisions and develop independence skills.

The curriculum allows for experience in making drinks, cooking simple lunches, TITAN and personal and social development. Enterprise, work-readiness and employability skills are also part of the curriculum.
