You will study the grammatical system and structure of the language. You will learn to manipulate the target language accurately to organise facts and ideas, present explanations, opinions and information in both speech and writing. You will develop the ability to be creative and imaginative when communicating in speech and writing and you will learn to use appropriate registers in both of these forms of communication. You will develop the skills to use the target language spontaneously, to analyse, hypothesise, evaluate, argue a case, justify, persuade, rebut, develop arguments and present viewpoints, in speech and in writing. You will also explore aspects of the society, culture and communities where the language is used.
All of the topics focus on the French-speaking society and the French-speaking world;
Current Trends: the changing nature of the family; the ƒ??cyber-societyƒ?; the place of voluntary work
Artistic Culture: a culture proud of its heritage; contemporary francophone music; cinema
Current Issues: positive features of a diverse society/life for the marginalised; how criminals are treated
Political Life: teenagers, the right
