We offer the AQA AS and A-Level qualifications in English Literature (Course Specification A) in which students explore two units of study: ‘Love through the Ages’ and ‘Modern times: literature from 1945 to the present day.’ Both units incorporate text from a variety of genres, time periods and literary movements. The course encourages students to develop their interest in English Literature through reading widely, critically and independently. Texts range across centuries, genre and gender. Students are encouraged to become informed, independent readers of literary texts and gain an understanding of a variety of views about texts and how to read them.
