Have you ever wondered why the legal driving age is 17? Why GCSEs are taken at age 16? Why the police cannot just enter a persons home? Why people can protest outside a Government building and not be arrested? The answer is Government and Politics. Throughout history governments have decided what people can and cannot do and political wars have been fought over peoples rights based on their gender, race and sexuality. Students will develop an insight into political beliefs which will create an understanding of the modern world. Students will gain an understanding of the wider world as well as coming to terms with their own political views and being able to justify them in a confident and analytical way.
