This course instructs the participants in the use of traditional silversmithing techniques to make beautiful wearable art of their own design and is an excellent introduction to the art of silver jewellery making. Basic techniques covered in this class include Piercing (Sawing), Soldering, Annealing, Forging, Texturing, Sanding and Polishing. All the learner abilities will be assessed and more intermediate techniques will be added such as stone setting, cuttle fish casting and granulation.
