The Certificate is designed to teach you the basic craft skills of food preparation and service e.g. from preparing fresh fish, whole poultry conjuring up luscious desserts, soups and sauces and using your newly found skills by serving the creations within our award winning HU1 Riverside bistro. This course also introduces the art of food service which will help you develop your team and individual working skills which will get you ready for the next course level or enter the world of Hospitality. The world is your oyster? An integral part of your Study Programme is English and maths which will be wrapped around your programme of study. On successful completion of this course you can potentially progress onto a full time Level 2 Study Programme in Professional Cookery or Level 2 Professional Patisserie. There will be opportunities to enter competitions, take part in industry visits and trips relating to your course.
