Equivalent to 1 A Level. The objective of this course is to provide students with a solid foundation in engineering principles, skills and a working knowledge of the engineering world. Students are encouraged to be highly independent, frequently liaising with workplace contacts that they establish, learn to be effective at time management, problem solving and develop good communication skills. Students gain valuable insight into the various engineering sectors and will see how engineering underpins 21st Century living through a series of industry visits, guest speakers and applied learning in the classroom combining theoretic study with practical application.
