This introductory course will give you a great practical introduction to gardening and landscaping and will provide you with an understanding of the type of work and career opportunities that are available in the industry.

You will be able to learn skills such as ground preparation, planting, pruning, plant identification and construction of a path/ fence.
Course Content
Prepare ground or area for planting
Care for a planted area
Erect a garden fence
You will also have an opportunity for tasters in hard landscaping and plant identification
Entry Requirements
Aged 19 years or older.

No previous experience, but an interest in horticulture is recommended and no current work placement needed.

After Completion of Your Course...
This qualification can lead to an entry level role in the horticulture industry, such as Gardener, Greenkeeper, Groundsperson or Garden centre worker.

There is also an opportunity to progress onto a higher qualification at Writtle.
