An advantage of completing a traineeship programme versus college is that as well as learning the sectors skills you will also gain valuable work experience which most employers look for. This programme includes 20 weeks study for a Level 2 Certificate in Hair & Beauty Skills, a Level 2 Award in Employability Skills, maths and English functional skills (if applicable) and a work experience/enrichment hours element with proposed hours of 172 which will give you invaluable life skills and experience to help you secure employment/apprenticeship in the hairdressing sector. While you are on the traineeship programme you will get a chance to practice the skills you have already been taught in school or college and if needed the opportunity to improve your maths and English grades. At the end of the traineeship you will have a much better chance of progressing onto an apprenticeship or job with either your work placement employer or another employer we work with. The employer will also write a reference you can take with you for future opportunities. Some of our traineeships have also opted to start their own part time hair and beauty business once complete and this is a further option if you decide you do not want to progress to a job or apprenticeship with the salon we place you with once complete.
