This Level 2 Dance course is designed to develop your potential for working in the dance profession and to prepare for future qualifications. You will cover a wide range of performance skills, contextual related activities and be given the opportunity to be involved in public performances. The method of learning is by a mixture of both tutor led and practical sessions.
All units are internally assessed through practical performance and written coursework and they are moderated by an external examiner. The final Unit grade determines the overall grade achieved by the student. The coursework and units up to the final assessment are graded at satisfactory pass, high pass and very high pass, and an overall grade for the qualification is awarded at Pass, Merit or Distinction level.
If you have not yet achieved a Grade 4(C) in GCSE English and Mathematics, you will also be working towards these qualifications as part of your study programme and there will also be opportunities to work with local theatres and to go on visits to shows either locally or nationally as part of your studies.
To get the most out of this course you will need to be enthusiastic, happy to work with others and confident to perform in front of an audience.
