On this course you will learn practical skills and develop the underpinning knowledge that are both necessary for employment in the sector or for moving on to a more advanced course.
The course includes a wide range of modules covering: tree identification, planting and care; plant, tree and soil sciences; advanced arboriculture practices; woodland and habitat management, tree surveys; pests and diseases; silviculture; machinery operations, urban and community forestry; business management; practical arboriculture; tree felling
and chainsaw use. Work experience is included and you will also undertake an investigative project of your own. There are nationally set course work assessments throughout the course.
