This course has been designed specifically for students
wishing to pursue a career within the sports industry through a
vocational route instead of traditional A levels. Whilst studying this
course at Hartpury you will gain a valuable insight into the scientific
analysis of sport, the sports performer and related topic areas. You
will have shared access to the Cross Training Gym and Performance
Laboratories to aid in your studies and gain vocational insight into the
sports industry through critical analysis.
In order to achieve the Level 3 Extended Diploma you will need to pass
180 credits. The following 6 (10 credits each) modules are mandatory:
Anatomy for Sport and Exercise, Sport and Exercise Physiology, Sport
and Exercise Psychology, Research Methods for Sport and Exercise
Sciences, Research project for Sport and Exercise Sciences and Fitness
Testing for Sport and Exercise.
You will also need to pass a further 120 credits from a range of optional
units. These are selected from Sports Biomechanics in Action, Fitness
Training Programme, Sport and Exercise Massage, Analysis of Sports
Performance, Sports Nutrition, Current Issues in Sport, Sports Injuries,
Sports Coaching, Practical Team Sports, Applied Sport and Exercise
Psychology, Research Investigation in Sport and Exercise Sciences and
Laboratory and Experimental Methods in Sport and Exercise Science.
