Primarily aimed at those working in the Health and Care sector this highly flexible Level 5 Health and Social Care Foundation Degree develops knowledge and skills within a supporting or caring role. Those who would benefit include Assistant and Associate Practitioners as well as Team Leaders. The degree course is also open to suitably qualified people wanting to explore new aspects of health and social care.The course content focusses highly on the students' role as a developing Health Care professional. Work Based Learning modules are a significant part of the course carrying 50% of the total credits awarded for study of the programme. With the support of your tutors you will be able to identify work-based learning outcomes that reflect and respond to your individual role and employment needs and to customise your 'pathway' during the course by choosing to undertake competencies that are specific to your setting and role. These will form part of the Work Based Learning assessment tasks throughout the course supported by your supervisor and work based learning team.The course consists of six modules in each of the two years of study. Each single module has 15 credits and a double module 30 credits. The modules studied are:YEAR 1 Study Skills for Foundation Degrees Work Based Learning 1 (Double) Science for Health and Social Care Applied Social Science Specialist Care Skills- Therapeutic Caring 1 Work Based Learning 2 (Double) YEAR 2 Social Policy and Welfare Systems Specialist Care Skills- Therapeutic Caring 2 Work Based Learning 3 (Double) Applying Evidence to Practice Legal and Ethical Aspects of Care Work Based Learning 4 (Double)
