Year 12:
ƒ?› Students study Pure Mathematics, Mechanics and Statistics.
ƒ?› The modules in Pure Mathematics extend studentsƒ?? knowledge of Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry as well as introducing new concepts in Calculus and Logarithms.
ƒ?› In Statistics, students learn to analyse and summarise numerical data in order to arrive at conclusions about it. A large dataset provided by the awarding body is used to provide a real life context.
ƒ?› In Mechanics, students describe the motion of objects and analyse how they react to forces acting upon them.
Year 13:
ƒ?› Students further their knowledge of Pure Mathematics, Mechanics and Statistics.
ƒ?› The Pure Mathematics will extend the Algebra, Trigonometry, Logarithms and Calculus studied in Year 12 as well as the links between these topics. Students will also study some Numerical Methods, Vectors and Differential Equations.
ƒ?› In Statistics, students will further their knowledge of Probability Distributions to include the Normal Distribution and the Binomial Distribution.
ƒ?› In Mechanics, the students will further their ability to describe the motion of objects and analyse how they react to forces acting upon them.
