More course information

Our bridge to independence courses are programmes of further education for students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities. The courses are designed for young adults who have the potential to progress and the enthusiasm to continue learning in a safe and supported setting. The aim of the Moving on to Independence course is to help students reach their potential through learning.

The nationally recognised qualification gained is structured to allow learners to develop the practical skills and knowledge designed to prepare students for adult life, further training, work and semi-independent living. The curriculum allows for experience in independent cooking, budgeting, household tasks, shopping for daily living, health, safety, hygiene and a range of other life and living skills.
