More course information

This is a practical course where the emphasis is placed on being in the workshop rather than the classroom, however there are requirements set by the Education Authority to ensure all students gain a minimum GCSE grade A-C which has become a requirement by most employers. Tutors are also making both the classroom and workshop environment more student friendly by introducing new innovative ideas and learning tools such as e-learning, smart phones and Seesaw app where students can download work and photographs to files or their personal tutor. All practical sessions are carried out in construction site conditions, which enables the students to experience the Health and Safety guidelines required when working on site. Each session will be structured to mirror best practice, with health and safety taken into consideration at each stage. The positive and friendly approach of the staff will give you the confidence to ask, take part and question throughout the sessions.
