More course information

Carpenters work primarily 'on site' fitting items built by the Joiner as part of a bigger ongoing project, such as a house-build. This would include fitting floors, roofs or installing kitchens and timber stud partition walls. At Level 3 you will acquire skills that will enable you to produce much more complex work, such as building dormer roofs and traditional roofing, you will also develop theoretical knowledge of construction management which would prepare you for jobs in site control or project management. All students are guaranteed some on-the-job work experience, regardless of level or ability. Students who are successful at Level 3 will be suited to either employment or Higher Apprenticeships. Those wishing to progress further may complete the Level 3 Professional Construction diploma, which can lead to an HNC or HND in Construction and the Built Environment or our BA (Hons) in Construction Management.
