This qualification is for those who are employed, or are working voluntarily, in schools as teaching assistants and have experience of directly supporting the teaching and learning of pupils.This course is available for applicants who are aged 19 and over as at the 31 August of the preceding academic year. Candidates must be able to show that they have a good standard of English and maths; at Level 3 we ask for GCSE grade C (or Level 4) or equivalent. You must also have secured a school placement of at least 12 hours. All prospective students must attend a briefing session with the course tutors. At this briefing you will be given further information about the content of the course and you will complete an English and maths assessment. Candidates whose scores in these assessments are below Level 2 will be encouraged to study English and/or maths alongside this qualification. Once you have enrolled, you will complete a diagnostic review to help us identify the support you may require. Please continue with your application through this website. At level 3 we are looking for candidates who have significant experience in the classroom, either as a volunteer teaching assistant or an employed teaching assistant.
