More course information

This course is in the suite of Bridge to Independence courses, which are programmes of further education for students with severe learning difficulties and/or disabilities. The courses are designed for young adults to help develop independent living skills and who have the potential to progress, the enthusiasm to continue learning and who require a supported learning environment. The broad aim of the course is to prepare learners for adult life, drawing on college, home and the community to teach a range of transferable life skills.

The nationally recognised qualification gained is structured to allow learners access to a curriculum which develops skills and knowledge in areas such as cooking and shopping for yourself, travelling independently through the TITAN programme and an additional qualification in English and maths.

Students are guided and supported to enable them to take responsibility for their own behaviour and learning and continue to develop independence skills.
